Celebrating Eight Weeks

Baby Scout, today you are eight weeks old. You now wear size 1 diapers (in Pampers) and size 2 (in Huggies) and size 3 - 6 months onesies. You are now wearing mostly 0 - 3 months clothes and 3 months clothes. Your favorite thing is to sleep and swing in your swing and play on your play mats. You are getting so strong playing on your playmats. You lift your head all the time and move your feet like you want to crawl. I don't think it will be long before you roll over. You are trying so hard, and it makes you mad because you can't turn yourself over. You are still doing a good job sleeping at night and are starting to sleep during the day a little bit more. At night, you will sleep from about 9 - 6 and only get up to eat one time around three. Many mornings you will go back to sleep until 8. You are such a happy girl in the morning. This is when I get many of my smile pictures. During the day, your might nap two or three times for thirty minutes or so, and you usually sleep for a couple of hours once during the day. You will fight going to sleep during the day and do not like to lay in your Rock and Play for your naps (You want someone to hold you). You are really starting to become responsive to anyone who talks to you. You say, "I Good!" and other sounds all the time. Your tummy has really bothered you the last few days. You are spitting up just about after every feeding. This makes it hard on mom because you want to eat again after you spit up!

Scout,
Mommy and Daddy think your the best!
You are such a sweet girl.
We love your smile!

Our Day

Today, we have been at home all day. Throughout the day, Scout has messed up five sets of pajamas and had one bath. She spit up (hurled) on her cousin Makayla and had seven dirty diapers. She had two tummy time sessions, one walk around the subdivision with mommy and her friend Melissa, and slept a total of two hours since getting up from her nightime sleep this morning (a whole five minutes in her crib). She has eaten nine times and watched her new Sesame Street song video that Aunt Shannon bought three times (It has been on three times, I don't know how much she watched it). Here are a few pictures from our busy day!!!

In other news, my dad came to help me hang some pictures in Scout's nursery. I love the LOVE picture given to us from Ms. Dawn and Mr. Jeff. We put it above the door.

I really wanted to put the SCOUT picture above the window. I thought that it would look good above the curtains with her monogram, but it didn't fit. So, I decided to put it above her toy shelves. I think it look nice here too!

My sweet friend Michelle gave us this for Scout's handprint and footprint. I think this looks really cute above the light switch.

I have three more things to hang in Scout's nursery. I had one of my maternity pictures made into an 11x15 that I am going to have framed and the white cross that we have used in some of her pictures. I think I am going to put them between the chest of drawers and window.

Last, I want to get a full-length to hang next to her toy shelves. I saw this cute idea on another blog - take a full-length mirror and hot glue a boa around the edges (look in the white mirror). How cute!

Our Sunday

Today was a very busy Sunday. First, we got up and went to Sunday School. Since our teacher, Lucy, was out of town, I got to teach the lesson (oh my!). We are studying the book of Genesis and today we covered Chapters 30 and 31. We sort of did a little review. We are now ready to start on Chapter 32. We had a good group in class this morning including two babies (Scout and Adelyn). Here are a few pictures.

After Sunday School, we rode down to Janny's and Granpappy's house for a little playtime before lunch. Scout enjoyed laying and watching the fan and smiling at Uncle Avery.

After playing for a little while, we met Mike, Melody and Judd for lunch. Baby Scout did a pretty good job and didn't get fussy until she got hungry. Judd was fantastic. He is such a cute guy!

When we got home, Daniel took this picture of Scout and me. I love her sweet smile (and her cute pajamas).

Scout played on her playmat for a few minutes after eating. She is getting so strong and moves her head so well. I love it when she lifts her head long enough for me to get a picture. Sometimes, she will move it from side to side before I can get a good shot. All the excitement of the day must have worn Scout out, because she fell asleep at 6:30 and has not woken up (it is 9:15). I wonder what this means for her night sleeping (she usually goes down at 10:30, wakes up for about 10 - 15 minutes to eat sometime during the night, then goes back to sleep until about 6:00)? I guess I better head off to bed as we might be up at 2:00. I probably will be okay because Daddy usually does the middle of the night rocking if it is needed : )

Hope you had a great Sunday!!!!

Take a Kid Fishing and Change

One of my fondest memories as a kid was the "Take a Kid Fishing"Rodeo that takes place each year at a lake near where we live. When I was a kid, I usually fished with our close family friend "Uncle Van", and my sister fished with my dad. This year, my niece fished with my dad. Eventhough they caught a big fish, they didn't place in the tournament. I know they had big fun. Here are some pictures from the boat and weigh-in.

Getting Ready for the Weigh-In

Hopefully, when Scout gets old enough, she will want to participate in this tournament. It is sort of a family tradition. Speaking of Scout, here she is Day One and Day Fifty One. Look at how much she has changed in such a short time. What a sweet little face!

Have a great rest of the weekend!
