Playdate and Birthday Dinner

Today, Adelyn came over for our very first playdate. Adelyn was born the Sunday after Scout. I think both girls had a great time sleeping, eating, and laying on their backs. Mrs. Shannon (Adelyn's mom) helped give Scout her first manicure. Tonight, our family ventured over to Cracker Barrel for Daniel's birthday dinner. We didn't get to celebrate it on Monday as planned because Uncle Avery was sick. We are glad he is feeling better! Here are a few pictures from our day!

Scout was good on the way to Cracker Barrel (about a 30 minute drive) and slept during our whole wait (another 30 minutes). She woke up right after we got seated and was not in a very happy mood. So, I tried to feed her, and she got a little upset stomach and let it go right in the middle of Cracker Barrel. This led to her first time to be changed in a public bathroom. She didn't really care for being changed in a strange place. After she was clean, her Janny took her out to the porch to rock. I think she liked this very much. We fed her in the car and then headed to the house. Sometimes, I think it is easier just to stay home! Ha!

Celebrating Seven Weeks

Baby Scout, today you are seven weeks old. You now wear size 1 diapers and size 0 - 3 months onesies. You are now wearing mostly 0 - 3 months clothes and occasionally 3 months clothes. Your new favorite thing is sleep in your swing and play on your play mats. You will lay in the floor on your mats for a very long time and look and play with the toys. You are still doing a pretty good job sleeping at night and are starting to sleep during the day a little bit more. At night, you will sleep from about 9 - 5:30 and only get up to eat one time around two. During the day, your might nap two or three times for an hour or so. You are really starting to become responsive to anyone who talks to you. You say, "I Good!" on a regular basis and make all kinds of other noises. Your tummy seems to be better, but you spit up a little sometimes and sometimes you let it go! You are constantly active which makes it hard for me to get your picture. Your hands and feet look like blurs in so many of the pictures I take of you! For the first time today, you found your thumb and really sucked it for a long time (like seven or eight minutes). When you took it out, you were like, "What happened?" You got a very special present for your seventh week birthday. Your Janny and Granpappy got you the sweetest rattle. You like holding it because it is small enough for you to get your hands around the handle.

Baby Scout,
We love you so much!
You are our world now!
We can't wait to see what amazing things you do this week!

Daddy's Birthday

This past July 3rd, Daniel got to celebrate his first birthday as a father. Scout enjoyed helping him celebrate for the first time. Here are Daddy and Scout all dressed in red, white and blue.

Daddy has a buddy, Bryan, who also shares the same birthday, so they usually celebrate together. This year, Bryan and Lisa hosted a cookout for the boys' birthdays. Daddy and Scout looked so cute as we arrived at Bryan and Lisa's house.

Lisa took this picture of our little family. Don't we look quite festive? I think this is a pretty good picture of all three of us!

Of course, Daddy had to get in on the Cornhole game. He played quite a bit. I think he lost some and won some.

Look at this adorable cake. It is a cornhole board. How cute is that?

Here are the two birthday boys this year. Don't they look like two peas in a pod?

Baby Scout had to get ready for bed before we left in case she fell asleep in the car (she didn't). I love these little patriotic pajamas. It will make me sad when I have to retire these :(

Happy Birthday, Daddy and Bryan! I hope you had a wonderful birthday!

4th of July

The Wiggs's family had a very exciting Fourth of July. We woke up in time to venture off to Sunday School. This is our little family in our Sunday School room. We are so lucky that we have our class in the parlor at church. We have nice, comfy couches to sit on, and they also make a nice place to take pictures.

This is Scout and her buddy Brayden. He was born in January and is absolutely adorable. He loves to smile and laugh at you. I can't wait until Scout can do that like him! Brayden's mom and dad are in our Sunday School Class.

After Sunday School, we rode down to Daniel's mom and dads to show off our cute dress. Scout enjoyed laying on the floor and letting everybody admire her. She did decide to laugh and play a little.

But, our big adventure was over to our friend's house for a Fourth of July celebration. Scout decided to spend some of her time laying on the floor and smiling. Don't you love her "Made in the USA" onesie? I paired it with some ruffle jeans and her flag tennis shoes. I think she looked adorable. Scout loved being held by everyone, hanging out by the pool, and watching Daddy play games.

This is Scout and her new friend Mason. Mason was visiting from New Jersey, i think. He loved getting in the floor with Scout and would give her kisses on her tummy. He was so sweet, and she just smiled when he was playing with her.

Scout also enjoyed spending time with Mrs. Babs.

Daddy enjoyed playing games. Here he is playing Ladder Ball with his friend Phillip (his partner was Phillip's wife). He lost but had a good time.

Daniel and the host, John, work together. They don't look like they could get into trouble, do they? John has triplet girls, Natalie, Hannah, and Tyler. I didn't get a picture of them together. They will be in sixth grade next year, and Daniel will be their math teacher.

Here is the beautiful hostess, Dawn. I don't think she sat down the entire time we were there (Bless her heart) except for a few minutes to hold Baby Scout. Thank you so much for having us over to celebrate. We had a great time!

Scout was not a very happy camper all the way home. We even had to stop and get her out of the car seat and calm her down (oh my!). I really wanted a picture with her, but she was not having it. This is the best we could do!

She did get a little happier after she ate. You might notice the spit-up at the top of her onesie. This was her fourth outfit. She was feeling pretty good, i think!

Finally, it was time for bed (Scout's bedtime is consistently 10:30ish). Last night, she slept from 11:00 to 5:00. WOOOOHOOOOOO! I think we are getting closer to sleeping "through the night". In her pajamas, she could have blended in with the fireworks the neighbors were shooting across the street.

Happy Birthday, America! Scout enjoyed celebrating her first Fourth of July.

Adventure Friday

After sitting at home for most of the week, Scout had a very exciting Friday. First, she worked on sucking her fingers. She has made it her new habit to suck on her arm. I don't like this very much. I am considering giving me a pacifier so she will quit. I also think it might be helpful for when she is fighting sleep and when she is ready to eat but it is not time. I think it would be okay now since she is doing such a good job with her eating. What do you think?

Scout spent some time today playing on her tummy time mat (she likes to be on her back too!). Notice how she is holding her pink elephant. She is really developing a nice grip!

Scout's Janny (Daniel's mom) came to visit us for a little while this afternoon and brought baby Scout a new rattle (I didn't get a picture). It is really cute with two little soccer balls on either end. Do you think this is the start of a great soccer player? Here is Scout doing a big smile. Thanks for the rattle, Janny!

After Janny and Granpappy left, we ventured out to the ball field to watch Tanner and Taylor play baseball. Granpappy and Daniel always stand out in the outfield on the fence. Here is Scout snuggling with Granpappy. It is her first time to stand on the fence.

Scout spent some time on the fence with Daddy too! Tanner hit a ball right to us, but it was foul.

Tanner at bat.

Taylor at bat.

Here is the team after the game. Unfortunately, they lost, so they are done for the year! Good job, boys! Scout enjoyed watching you play.

After the ball game, we decided to try our second trip out to eat. We went to the best Mexican restaurant. At dinner, we saw some of our sweet friends who have not gotten to meet Scout. Scout enjoyed meeting Deb and Glenn. She also met Kim, Beverly and Ms. Brewer, but I didn't get a picture.

Another friend, Ms. Dawn, offered to hold Scout so her daddy and I could eat. Ms. Dawn and Mr. Jeff came to visit a few weeks ago and brought Scout the "LOVE" letters you sometimes see in her weekly pictures. Thank you so much, Ms. Dawn. Scout enjoyed sitting with you!

After a little ride home, Scout was ready to eat. She sat with Daddy for a little bit and is now sleeping. Hope you enjoyed reading about our Adventure Friday!

Celebrating Six Weeks

Baby Scout, today you are six weeks old. You now wear size 1 diapers and size 0 - 3 months onesies. You still wear mostly newborn clothes, but sometimes I can find 0 - 3 month outfits to fit you. Your new favorite thing is to play in your play area. You spend some time on your tummy but like to spend time on your back too! You can really swat at the toys now! You favorite is the pink elephant that plays music. You are doing a great job sleeping at night but don't like to sleep during the day. At night, you will sleep from about 10:30 - 6 and only get up to eat one time around four. During the day, your might nap two or three times for thirty minutes to an hour. You are now starting to smile when we talk to you instead of at random. You will smile for a long time, so we can take your picture. You still have a little upset tummy quite often. Sometimes, you spit up a little and sometimes you let it go! You did that today; That is why you have on two different outfits in your pictures today. You mess up at least three outfits a day because of this.

Baby Scout, you are such a sweet girl, and you have such a good personality. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you! We love it when you smile which you do quite often!
