Show Us Your Life - Dining Room

This week, Kelly over at Kelly's Korner is continuing her "Show Us Your Life" Friday. This weekly linking party began as "Show Us Where You Live", so Kelly is revisiting this idea over the next few weeks. This will give those who missed the home tours the first time to have a chance to get in on the action. This week is dining rooms. So, hop on over to Kelly's Korner and sometime tomorrow (I am posting Thursday), and you should be able to find a nice tour of dining rooms.

Here is the view of our dining room from the door that goes to the kitchen.

And this is the view from our formal living room.

Here is a close up of the arrangement that sits on the table. We remove it when we eat at this table (which is hardly ever - we eat at the breakfast table or in front of the TV).

I have two of this kind of print. They hang of either side of our middle window. The colors match the room perfectly.

This china cabinet belonged to my grandmother, and I love it. It is maple. Unfortunately, she didn't have a table to match. So, when we moved into this house, I searched everywhere for a table. After looking at about ten furniture stores, I found one that matched beautifully.

My china is Fitzgerald by Noritake. I think it looks beautiful in the china cabinet (this is where it gets used the most).

And if your name is Holly, and this is your china pattern, you have to have these salad plates.

This is the corner next to the the china cabinet. This chair also belonged to my grandmother. It fits perfectly in this room.

Many people ask me how I came up with the name for our blog. Here is part of the reason for the name "Tales from Waters Edge". This is the view from our dining room. It used to be a better view before a house was built across the street, but it is still a nice view from our upstairs and gazebo front porch.

You might have noticed a chair missing from our dining room table. Well, our breakfast table only came with two chairs. Now that we have this little cutie, we need three chairs. So, I stole one of our dining room chairs for our breakfast room table. I guess we could get a regular high chair, but the little one we have seems to work great for Scout and doesn't take up much room.

Hope you enjoyed our dining room! Come back next week for a tour of our kitchen (I think its kitchens next week) or daily for sweet pictures and adventures of our girl.
