Maternity Pictures

Our sweet photographer, Jessica Winn, traveled to our home today to do Scout's newborn pictures. After three hours of shooting, feeding, and wiggling, I think sweet Jessica managed to get hundreds of wonderful pictures of our new little girl. While she was here, we also previewed our maternity pictures she took a few weeks ago. There are about 100 fantastic shots on the C.D. she made us. I don't know how we will ever choose which ones to order, but here are some of my favorites.

Pictures

Over the last couple of days, Baby Scout has been busy. She has . . . . . .

discovered her teddy bear,

visited with Ms. Charlene,

made faces,

rocked with Uncle Avery,

and

played in her bouncy seat!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy rest of the weekend!

Celebrating One Week

Today, Baby Scout, you are one week old!

Sleeping Patterns: Baby Scout, you are a good sleeper. You like to sleep about an hour and a half at a time. One time during the night, you will sleep a whole three to four hours. Your two favorite places to sleep are in your "Rock and Play" and on someone's shoulder (daddy's or Aunt Shannon's shoulder seem to work nicely).

What You Like To Do: Baby Scout, you are a very happy girl. You love to hear mommy, daddy or Aunt Shannon talk to you. You like to listen to stories or songs (Daddy sings to you often). You have liked riding in the car both times and listening to your "Praise Baby" C.D. You like to lay on someone's knee and look around to see what is going on in the room.

New Things You Have Done this Week: Baby Scout, your favorite new thing to do is make faces. You smile, make o's with your lips, make sad faces, and yawn. You also rode in the stroller for the first time today. You seemed to like it. You tried your swing, but didn't care for it. You also got your first pair of basketball shoes and basketball as a present from the Carson family. We hope you will be as good a basketball player as Ashley.

Eating Patterns: Baby Scout, you are eating like a champ. You nurse every two to three hours for about thirty minutes. Mommy loves this time with you! You gained 5 ounces from Saturday to Monday. One time during the night, you will wait three to four hours.

Dislikes: Baby Scout, you hate being cold. This includes having your diaper changed, bath time, and changing clothes. Other than that, you are usually very content. You don't mind having a poopy diaper or being hungry for too long. You are a patient girl.

Diaper Size: Scout, you wear a Newborn size diaper.
Clothes Size: Scout, you wear Newborn size clothes. We are going to have to go buy you some more newborn clothes because mommy never imagined you would be so small. We are changing sleepers quite often and only put on real clothes for visitors.

Eye Color: Scout, right now, your eyes are blue. I wonder if they will stay that way?

Scout,
Mommy and Daddy are so totally in love with you!
You have brought us so much joy over the past week!
I don't think we could imagine life without you now!
You are a special girl!

Maternity Pictures

The sneak peak of our Maternity pictures is up. Check them out at Jessica Winn. I am sure she would love for you to leave a comment if you like them. I think she did an excellent job, and I can't wait to see the rest. She will be coming this Sunday to do Baby Scout's newborn photos. Until then, here are a few of her to tide you over.

Daddy and Baby Scout after her first sponge bath. She didn't love it, but I think she sure did feel better after it was over.

This is during bath time. She really liked the little bath seat. I think she will love it when we can get her in a real, warm bath.

Scout likes to take snooze in her "Rock and Play" the best. But, sometimes she finds a comfortable spot in cousin Makayla's lap.

Saturday was Scout's very first playdate. Her friend Journee Kalis came to visit for a little while. Journee is five weeks old.

Scout has some sneaky eyes. Here she is looking over daddy's shoulder.

Uncle Randy came to visit for a little while on Monday. Scout sure did like hanging out with him.

On Tuesday, Scout had her very first doctor's visit. Mommy and daddy were a little nervous, but Scout did fantastic. At the end of her appointment, she got a very special kiss from her doctor. Mommy and daddy felt much better.

Hope you have a fantastic Wednesday! For all the teachers, enjoy your last day with the kids. I know I sure will miss not getting to see mine on their last full day of first grade.

Scout Comes Home

Baby Scout had a very exciting trip home from the hospital.

First, her daddy decorated the car so she would feel extra special.

Grandpappy came to the hospital to help us pack up. He and daddy are very proud of their little girl.

Baby Scout got all dressed up in her going home outfit. Then, we put her in the car seat. She didn't love it at first but . . . . .

decided it was okay once she got moving!

On the way home, we listened to her new "Praise Baby" C.D. It put her to sleep.

Her first trip through the garage didn't phase her a bit.

Daddy and Baby Scout had a little talk after we got home. I think they developed an understanding with one another. Ever since, she has been a Daddy's girl.

Busy Girl

Hello All . . . . Baby Scout has been a busy girl the last couple of days. Here are some pictures of visitors who came to the hospital.

This is one of Daniel's baseball players, Cody. Ever since we found out we were expecting in May, Cody has been telling Daniel and everyone else that Baby Scout would come on his birthday, May 20th. Guess what, she did! Next year, Cody will turn eighteen and Baby Scout will turn one.

Cousin Makayla holding Baby Scout.

Daniel's co-worker Wendy came to see us.

Cody's mom Lynn enjoyed her also.

We came home yesterday (Saturday) around 10:00 a.m. I will try to post some pictures of this big event pretty soon! Hope you have a happy Sunday!
