Show Us Your Life - Living Room

This week, Kelly over at Kelly's Korner is restarting her "Show Us Your Life" Friday. This weekly linking party began as "Show Us Where You Live", so Kelly is revisiting this idea over the next few weeks. This will give those who missed the home tours the first time to have a chance to get in on the action. This week is living rooms. So, hop on over to Kelly's Korner and sometime today you should be able to find a nice tour of living rooms.

Our formal living room is probably the most unused room in our house but is also one of my favorites. The decor is of a musical theme. The focal point over the couch is a framed piece of music. The piece is a flute solo (I play flute). It is special because it was debuted at a concert that I attended and is signed by the composer.

Our living room houses our old church piano. This was given to us by our church when they were replacing the pianos. It has lovely details.

On top of the piano, I have framed baby pictures of our parents. I was going to hang them, but they seem not fit right on the wall, so I have just left them on top of the piano.

Our living room has two tall windows. Here is a picture of the window treatments above each.

This is what hangs out on our coffee table. I love the Party Lite Candle Tower. It looks so pretty when all the candles are lit.

This view from the foyer shows the living room and part of the dining room. Right now, the couch is my sorting spot for Scout's fall and winter clothes. I have got to get them hung up or folded and put away. I know the clothes look like one big messy pile, but they are actually sorted by size and are ready to be worn.

The two coffee tables on either side of the couch have some framed pictures. As you can see, the pictures probably need to be updated (no pictures of Baby Scout).

Hope you enjoyed the tour of our living room. Check back next week for another room of our house or daily for pictures of Baby Scout! Until we see you again, here is a picture of our sweet girl to make you smile!

  14. I love the framed music! And with the piano it all goes together great. And also think sitting the pictures on the piano really works, but I think in general there's something special about pictures on top of pianos.
